The health and social assistance sector is becoming increasingly important as a considerable part of our population requires social assistance, personal care, protection or social assistance services for children or adults in need or at risk, or adults with needs caused by illness, and mental disability, old age or poverty, therefore professional carers provide vital services to the UK and their contribution to health services is significant.
